Getting to see a number of Guo Pei designs at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco was a dream. Each piece was so meticulously crafted and unusual that I welled up with tears in the first room of the exhibition. In the presence of something so magical, I couldn’t help but feel emotional. The photos could never do it justice, but I’ll share a sampling for those who missed it.
Guo Pei was born in 1967 and has been designing for more than 25 years. She is a member of the Chambre Syndicate de la Haute Couture in Paris, and only the second Chinese national to win that honor.
